Los Blancos' Trent Alexander-Arnold May Face His Former Club in Upcoming European Fixture

The English defender in action

Real Madrid signed Trent Alexander-Arnold on a long-term agreement

Trent Alexander-Arnold's rehabilitation is advancing smoothly, raising a chance that the Real Madrid right-back could be fit soon enough to confront his old team Liverpool in the upcoming Champions League tie.

The English player experienced a muscle injury during a match against Ligue 1 side Marseille in the group stage of the competition on 16 September.

Alexander-Arnold had to leave the field in the early stages, with initial estimates pointing to a potential absence of around six weeks.

Real Madrid will travel to play at Liverpool on 4 November for the European fixture—precisely over a month after the incident took place.

Sources familiar with the player's condition indicate that the defender's healing process is moving along well, and there is optimism that Alexander-Arnold could make his initial appearance to Anfield since joining Real Madrid in the summer.

A lifelong Liverpool supporter, Alexander-Arnold previously remarked that leaving the club he entered as a young academy player was the "hardest decision he's ever taken."

During his tenure with the Merseyside club, Alexander-Arnold notched 354 appearances, contributing to win multiple Premier League titles, a Champions League, and the FA Cup.

Since his transfer to Madrid, Alexander-Arnold has played on five occasions in various tournaments, accumulating over two and a half hours of action.
