Ideally, they'd want an Ashes series in Australia where they still have a chance to secure the famous trophy following the initial matches.

That will not be happening this time, though, after Australia's crushing triumph in Adelaide gave Australia 3-0 up for the fourth consecutive series on home turf.

The loyal traveling fans, the organized fan base, have thousands of supporters flying out for the concluding fixtures in the SCG and MCG.

Furthermore, other organized trips who will be vacationing in Australia, as well as loved ones embarking on a dream holiday.

The Disappointed Travelers

Four fans named Alex, Sam, Rory and Katie are a prime example.

The group had their itineraries and entry credentials secured for the fourth and fifth Tests "12 months ago", hoping to witness a long-awaited triumph.

Sadly, they've observed Australia dismantle the tourists in just under two weeks from their house in Penwortham, Lancashire.

"Everyone at work has been teasing me regarding the concluded contest for the last two weeks," stated Sam Ryding.

"Our expectation had been that we would have the series on the line by the time we arrived."

Fading Positivity

Hope was abundant concerning a potential victory of breaking a 15-year drought for a series win in Australia ahead of the tour.

Yet now they are looking at the possibility of extending their winless run in the country to 19 games when the Boxing Day Test begins in the MCG on Christmas Day.

The England team - and their followers - will be desperate to avoid a whitewash.

Alex said the "entertainment" of head coach the positive style of play in recent years had "reinvigorated" the longest format for England fans.

Yet the fans said they had realistic outlooks for the final two games - and all they are requesting from the players is "a show of spirit".

"Commentators consistently references this, but it all comes down to mental resilience. 'The aggressive approach has been turned into a buzzword now that is just, like, impractical batting," added Rory.

"In a five-day Test match, you should dig in. Playing at deliveries 'outside the line has never been in the textbooks, and that is largely because of the batting lineup."

The Remaining Matches

Prompted about he believed England will secure a victory in the current series, came the reply: "The evidence suggests the Aussies are just too good at the moment."

"Necessarily, there must be multiple performers that makes a significant contribution and produces a match-winning display."

Even with the series lost, the siblings are still anticipating the trip.

"We will have a wonderful trip regardless," said Katie. "We have to go with that outlook."

"Naturally, it's unfortunate we don't have more to play for, but we have spent so much money by now."

"We'll enjoy having Christmas and New Year out there. This will be our first experience away from home at this time of year."

An educator, Katie is determined to make the most of the lengthy journey as part of her Christmas holidays.

"If all else fails, I can play golf to rely on," she finished.
