Bullish Celtic's manager shows no fear of the sack yet Celtic fans show fury following loss.

The under-pressure manager declared he did not fear losing his job, claiming, “We are very near to a turnaround,” even after edging perilously close to the chopping block with a convincing defeat by the Ibrox side.

Nancy’s Persistent Belief

He remains focused on the fact his team can perform strongly for 45 minutes at a time. In fact, were it not for poor finishing they might have been greater than 1-0 up. “There were positives other than the fact that we haven’t scored more goals,” he said. “I acknowledge that we lost, but I have also to be balanced.

“The level we had at times was really, really, really high. That is a fact. I could not say that if it was different. But that’s why, in terms of results, I said it's a repeating pattern. That’s why I believe we are nearly there to things turning around. Right now: small things.”

“We produced many, many good things that we did, as was the case today. However it’s about performing for 90 minutes. My outlook would change if I didn't believe it. This is why I am convinced we will manage to get back on track.”

Opposition Reaction Outlook

The victorious boss refused to contemplate a serious challenge in spite of what seemed like a landmark win. “One match at a time, then we can really build up a challenge,” he said. “The confidence in the team is outstanding.”
